Rinsing, Filling, Capping Machine:
Though BIS has not put any restriction on manual filling, humid Indian conditions make the product susceptible to external contamination due to unhygienic conditions. Therefore, automation in post processing stage is strongly recommended. Mono-block machines, capable to rinse, fill & cap covered in one single enclosure is recommended as this ensures quick packing hence less chances of contamination through air.
Mono-block machines offer small footprints and quick transport distance between filling and closing for highly secured production. As they outperform functions that normally require employment of several other machines, Mono-block machines are effectively crafted with modular designs that efficiently help to change over to different functions, product sizes and shapes. The frequency converter helps to control the production speed.
The complete parts coming in contact with water i.e. pipelines nozzles and tanks should have stainless steel construction. The caps enclosure too, should have disinfecting arrangement (UV) to avoid contamination arising out of improper disinfecting of caps at early stages.
Since PET has static charge, it attracts lot of contaminants from the atmosphere and thorough rinsing is required. As jet rinsing ensures proper cleaning of PET bottles, the risk of external contamination is minimized. These machines reduce the chance of product contamination by capping containers as soon as they are filled. Direct transfer also reduces the chances of spilling. This speeds up entire process giving the consumer absolutely pure water.
Bottle Blowing Machines
Bottle blowing machines today, are enhanced by new technology. Due to advent of two stage blowing, spearheaded by Chinese companies in mid nineties, followed by Indian Machine's growth, Indian entrepreneurs have wide variety of choices available for bottles, Jars etc. capable to blow 500ml bottles up-to 2 liters.
The integral part of this machine is:
· Blowing unit
· Preform infra-red heating unit
· Compressor
· Dryer
· Moulds of the product*
*Though integral part of the blowing station, size, dimension, shape of the product as well as mould polishing play a very crucial role in giving a perfect look and shine to the final product. The blowing station contains hydraulic rods with adjustable flow as well as speeds that make vertical blowing of a heated pre-form. At the same time the compressed air distributor makes blowing in two stages.
The container in which product needs to be packed is equally important, since the quality has to be retained for a long time. A good blowing station with a perfect mould ensures Proper heating of the performs, even distribution of the material and transparency of the container
Indian manufacturers have made good progress in this regard and have come out with lighter pre-form blowing arrangements, dual blowing arrangements for optimum capacity and uniform blowing. These flexible and compact blowing systems result in outstanding production and are versatile for a wide range of applications. They not only have automatic operation, bottle weight reduction, and proportional hydraulic stretching features but can also manage simple and reliable transport of pre-forms.
The coding of the bottle is a legal requirement and following information needs to be printed/ coded before final packing.
· Date of manufacturing.
· Batch number
· Best Before
After coding the bottle has to pass through shrink tunnel, box strapping machine for dispatch to the market.
Water Testing Laboratory:
Water constitutes 60% of the adult body and 75% of a child's body therefore the quality of water that we consume is of prime concern. If not paid attention to, water can be life threatening even causing death. Water testing is done in laboratories as it determines the standard and quality of water.
The standards of water pollution have become increasingly binding since the adoption of two major federal environmental statues: the Clean Water Act of 1972 that implemented a national system of regulation on the discharge of pollutants; and the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974, that setup standards for drinking water.
BIS emphatically requires regular in- house testing of physical, chemical and microbiological parameters by trained chemist and microbiologist. This trained chemist and a microbiologist should be present at all times during the production process. At the time of inspection, the BIS Technical staff checks the following so that the final product is absolutely salubrious.
1. Required lab equipments.
2. Reagents for testing.
3. Glass ware.
The water testing equipments are of high quality and give concrete results. The level of hygiene, especially in microbiological lab is of utmost importance and the same can play a crucial role in the results of the sample. Genuine water quality testing takes place in this laboratory to give the consumer water that not only looks smells or tastes good but is also 100% bacteria free.
